BUNDI - Bounded by the Aravallis on three sides, Bundi is about 36 km from Kota. This tiny scenic town used to be a part of Kota and was ruled over by the Hada Chauhans. The Rajput legacy of this town has been well-preserved in the form of its massive fort. Besides, the palaces, havelis, temples with beautiful carved idols and pillars are some other interesting monuments to be seen. The charming lake in the heart of the town increases its Beauty. Bundi is also famous for delicate and intricate carvings and murals.

KARAULI - Founded in 1348 AD, Karauli is distinguishable by its red sandstone walls, bastions, peripheral walls, six huge gates, eleven posterns and the annual fair at the Kaila Devi temple. Located around 160 kilometres from Jaipur, Karauli gives glimpses into Rajput history. Karauli was initially known as Kalyanpuri after the local deity, Kalyanji. According to legend, the ruling family of Karauli, the Yadhuvanshi Rajputs are descendants of Lord Krishna. The temple of Madan Mohanji is another interesting place to visit in Karauli.

KOTA - Located around 100 kilometres from Ranthambore, Kota is another important place to be visited. Kota was an important part of the Rajput kingdom of Bundi. It became a separate princely in the 17th century. The glory of olden days can be seen in the form of several monuments, palaces and gardens. On the eastern bank of the Chambal River, Kota has number of palces to visit and see. The city fort and palace, the Kota Barrage, the Kishore Sagar tank built in 1346, the Jagmandir palace located on a small island, the Brij Vilas Palace Museum, the Chambal gardens and Chhattar Bilas gardens with its royal cenotaphs are some places to be visited in Kota.

SAWAI MADHOPUR Located merely 12 kilometres from Ranthambore, Sawai Madhopur has always been the centre of attraction of the Rajput rulers in the past. The town has many historic legends associated with it and is the gateway to the Park.

TONK An old town dating to the mid-17th century, it resurrects a forgotten era. The small town used to be a stronghold of Pathan tribesmen. Tonk is characterized by the Sunehri Kothi with intricate mirror-work and a colourful medley of mosques, mansions and regal structures.
